Lake Sonoma

Sonoma Valley Tour de Vin - Guided Tour

This tour has been one of our best-loved excursions due to the magnificent location, easy pedaling, sunny climate, and the abundance of small, intimate, family owned wineries. We begin the tour behind the historic Sonoma Plaza and our first stop is at the restored Victorian home of General Vallejo. We pedal toward our first winery, the Buena Vista, which is the oldest functioning winery in California and run by the youngest team in Sonoma Valley. The beautiful winery buildings in the eucalyptus grove are state landmarks. Our next winery stop is at the peaceful Gundlach-Bundschu Winery that overlooks a small lake with rolling hills in every direction. On we go for a short ride down the road to the Ravenswood Winery where a small tasting room holds some real wonders of California oenology. Our last winery of the day is the venerable Sebastiani, whose vineyards include some of those first planted by the mission fathers in 1825. The winery is full of interesting history along with some fantastic wines to explore. The Blazing Saddles support vehicle is never far away and will carry all of your purchases!

The fog usually arrives in the evening and burns off in the morning which makes for very temperate weather in the area. We take Eastside Road south to where it meets River Road. This route follows the Russian River all the way to the Pacific Ocean. We finish the tour at the mouth of the Russian River in the small coastal town of Jenner which is close to Fort Ross and Armstrong Redwoods State Park.

Napa Valley Winery

Napa Valley Tour de Vin - Guided Tour

The Napa Valley is the most famous wine-growing area in the United States. It not only produces some of the best wines in the world, but there is a special feeling to the Valley itself. Its charming scenery, its magnificent climate, and its many celebrated wineries make this a wine Mecca for visitors from all over the world. All of our bike routes around Napa include the Silverado Trail because it has less vehicle traffic and wider shoulders for biking. Our most popular tour is just six miles north of Napa in the quaint town of Yountville. Here we visit wineries such as Clos Du Val, Stags’ Leap, and Pine Ridge. And please remember: Blazing Saddles will be happy to arrange a picnic.

China Camp Off-Road Terrain

China Camp Off-Road - Guided Tour

The hiking-trail width of this track is an ideal introduction to mountain biking in Marin County. Depending on your speed, some parts can pose a challenge to hardcore riders. The climbs are decent, the views rewarding, and the 1.5 hour loop will bring you right back to where you started, perhaps for a second lap. This is an extraordinary ride also because the route follows one of the only legal narrow mountain bike trails in Marin County.
